About the Author

Bank Teller by day, writer by night.

Currently residing in Birmingham, AL. The middle child of five, I always had to find ways to entertain myself, so I wrote. Poems, stories, songs: anything that sparked my interest. I also spent my time reading.

At 16 I began writing Lord of the Rings Fan Fiction for my younger sister. A few years later I had a chance to meet a young author named Christopher Paolini at a signing for his debut novel, Eragon.  Only two years older than me, I was amazed at his talent and success. My mother remarked that "You could do that Kelly.  If you really wanted to, you could write a book." As it turned out I did have an original story I'd been turning over in my head for sometime, so I set to work.

Over the last ten years setbacks, distractions, and other obligations plagued my work. In January of 2013 I decided it was now or never and outlined the story into a trilogy. In November 2013 I signed up for NaNoWriMo and successfully penned 29k works in 30 days. On January 24th I finished my first draft.
